Construction Progress2026Cleanroom Preparation and Technical Training
What a semiconductor plant needs to work.
Micron's Boise expansion connects advanced memory manufacturing with local research and development. Company updates report that the first new fab reached construction milestones, including cleanroom pressurization and purging, in spring 2026, preparing for equipment installation.
As of this verification, the company plans to start producing Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) at this factory in 2027. The plan and the progress of completed construction need to be understood separately. Future capacity should not be mistaken for annual production results.
Beyond large-scale projects, local collaboration also involves trades, equipment installation, facility maintenance, and personnel training. Supplier participation in the project requires proof of specific capabilities; the investment plan mentioned in the news does not mean that any one company has already received an order.
